Guy A. Dow

LYNN - Mr. Guy A. Dow, age 65, of Lynn, died at his home on March 12, 2014.Born in Lynn on August 15, 1948, he was the son of the late Guy A. Dow and Eileen M. (McMahon) (Dow) Pappa. He graduated from Lynn English High School. Guy served in Vietnam in the U. S. Army Communications. He then went on to Sylvania Tech.Guy worked as an electronics quality control inspector at Data Instruments, Bedford, and then worked as a MBTA bus driver for several years.He loved working on electronics projects. He built TVs from circuit kits, and dabbled in home improvement and automotive projects.Guy was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Lynn.He leaves a daughter, Rachel Dow, and her finance Todd Long of Lynn; three sisters, Ruth A. Dow, Catherine (Dow) DiBona and Rita J. (Dow) Casey, all of Lynn; five grandchildren, Jaquan Dow, Damien Dow, Trey Dow, Romeo Dow and Tyson Long; an uncle, Capt. James P. McMahon, and his wife Doris of Clyde Hill, Wash.; two aunts, Rita (McMahon) Kirwin of Madison, Conn., and Joan (McMahon) Casey of Lynn; his former wife, Cheryl Corbett, of Hernando, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his son, Ryan Dow, a brother, George A. Dow, a sister, Eileen M. (Dow) McKellar, and an uncle, Gerald Kirwin.Service information: A graveside service with Military Honors will be held in the Pine Grove Cemetery Vietnam Veterans Lot on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends invited.
