Judith Wallin

As many of you may know, my mom’s favorite color was purple, as evidenced by several of you wearing purple today [at her memorial service], and the purple flowers in the beautiful displays we have here today.



I am reminded of Alice Walker’s book, The Color Purple. One of the main characters in the book talks about God wanting to be loved and appreciated for the beauty of what He created, and how He (or It, as the character states) would be mad if somebody walked by a field of purple and didn’t notice.



Mom was an effusive and passionate appreciator of beauty wherever she found it:

• in a meal well made,

• an emotional piece of music,

• a poem well written or a sentimental greeting card,

• in the people she loved. . .



. . .and she never would have walked past a field of purple without noticing!



I will miss sharing her joy in the world around her.

Curt and Tim and to all of Judy's family. I know what a treasure Judy was to you! She was a huge part of the success of the Cargill retiree volunteer committee, aiding the office and sharing her talents in a wide variety of community projects. The photo shown celebrates a ceremony and award made in honor of her volunteer services. I wish you wonderful memories and am deeply saddened by your/our loss.

Dear Friends, especially Curt and Florence,

I extend my most sincere and loving sympathy to you in the home going of Judy. I have many happy memories of you and of the years at Elim when my mom and I were there together with the Dicksons. Being part of the Mariners was fun. I remember Judy as such a sweet, efficient person and I know you will miss her very much. I have lived in California for 20 years and get back to Mpls. once in awhile. May the Lord comfort your hearts at this sad time and we all look forward to the reunion in heaven. I think I last saw you, Florence,several years ago when I had lunch at little Jacks with my brother and sister-in-law who are now in heaven. I send my loving sympathy to all the family.

My mother had many friends, and I'm proud to say that I was one of them -- something not all children can (or will) say about a parent. We spent many evenings on the deck of my folks' apartment overlooking Lake Minnetonka, watching dusk creep in from the east, talking about anything and everything. I'm lucky I can still do that with my dad, but we'll miss her company. Thanks for everything, Mom, and I'll see you when I see you!

We former, long time members of Elim who are saddened by Judy's Home going.

We've had all of the family in our prayer since Ardy informed us of Judy's illness.



Know you're in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.



God seldom tells us why but He always draws near and heals us with His love.

I send my deepest sympathies to my Minnesota family. I have many fond memories of my Aunt Judy. My favorite is that whenever we visited Curt & Judy's house, Judy would pull out a box filled with office supplies so we could play school or office. We can take solace in the fact that many loving family members were waiting to welcome Judy in Heaven.
