Judith D. “Judy” Winchell, 68, of Logan, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born September 11, 1953, in Millfield, the daughter of the late Herschel and Velma Jane (Jackson) Smith. She was married to Richard Winchell who survives.
Judy was a member of the Nelsonville VFW Post 3467, Murray City American Legion Post 420, and Murray City Eagles Aerie 1044.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her sons, Roger (Lisa) Robinette of New Straitsville, Mark (Julie) Shaver of Pleasantville, and Zeke Muncy of Nelsonville; daughter, Jessica Muncy of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Cristina, Kayla, Seth, Addysen, Hope, Savanna, Joclynn, Patrick, Garrett, and Shyanna; great grandchildren, Phoenix, Scarlett, Ember, Myles, Huck, and Case; sisters, Bobbie Lanning of Glouster, Nancy (Dan) O’Nail of Nelsonville, Mary Warren of New Lexington, and Linda Smith of Nelsonville; and special niece, Tara Wright.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Wolfe; and brother, Herschel C. Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Krista Jo Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Family and friends may visit Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
