Judy Gethings Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 15 to Mar. 17, 2009.
GETHINGS, Judy Judy Gethings, in her 61st year, passed away peacefully at her home in Woodlawn, Ontario Friday, March 13th, 2009. She is survived by her beloved husband, lover and primary care giver, Ralph, her three wonderful children, Ralph, Clifford and Esther and her loving grandchildren Darian and Payton Gethings. She is also survived by her three sisters, Dixie (Ralph) Young, Cindy Waller and Theresa (George) Patenaude and her darling brother, Donald (Carolyn) Gorman. In accordance with her wishes, Judy will be cremated this weekend with a small ceremony to follow early in the week. Judy was a wonderful, thoughtful and caring person who always put the needs of others before her own. One of her last wishes was that if you hear the song by Louis Armstrong "What A Wonderful World" think of me for a few seconds and then get on with living, and enjoy all that life has to offer. A small memorial will be held Monday March 16th at 1:00 PM at the Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations of any amount can be made to The Ottawa Cancer Center, The Ottawa Heart Institute, or any branch of the SPCA.

My fondest memory of Judy is the two of us clinging to each other while taking a CPR instructor course; we were both so nervous. You are missed Judy. Ralph, my heart goes out to you and your family and hope that time is kind to you all. I will now always think of Judy when I hear "What A Wonderful World".
