To Helen & Jules family. I worked with Jules for years at NMCRS...He was always giving a laugh and playing a prank with us. Helen & Jules had us over for gatherings that were fun & festive. I think of them both with love an gratitude for their lives that touched us in beautiful ways.

Today is the anniversary for Dad's passing. We miss him terribly, but know that he is in a much better place for him now. Mom is there to comfort him, so they will live in our hearts.

Our Mother, Helen, also passed away, March 7th, a little over a month after Jules. I am sure that she wanted to join him and now they are together, as in life. Our family misses both of them, but they live on in our hearts and souls.

I was so saddened to hear that Jules had passed away. I was the first "admin assistant" he had at NHHS. Sept. 1968 was when I started working there and I look back and have always said, that was the best "boss" i've every had and the best job. I worked for Jules for 8 years. My condolences to Helen and all four of his children. You were all part of my life during those years of raising my children and getting into the workplace. What a great place NHHS was during the 12 years I worked there and at the M&O offices. All the coaches were great.

Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts and memories. Certainly for Jules' grandchildren and great grandchildren, it is wonderful for the family to be able to read about one person's contributions towards society and individuals, with the positive effects that Jules' had on them. We all need take time to help and care for others. Jules was a very unique person, with some different personality quirks, that seem to work for him. He led the charge for many activities and gatherings is definitely missed by his family and friends. He has left a legacy and we hope he is at peace.

Both Judy and I graduated from Harbor High in 1956. I did not play for Coach Gage but found him to be much more. To me he was a mentor and a Friend. Judy however used to Babysit for the Gage family when she live on St James Road. After I came back from college to teach at Horace Ensign I would go over to the High School and get advice from Coach. The advice was about teaching, coaching, and life in general. He was always there for me. When Judy and I talk about our High School days. The Gage family always comes up. When it came time for me to enter the service, Coach was the first one I went to for advice. Now after more than 30 years of Service I know that the world needs more Coach Gages not fewer. Both Judy and I know that we have lost a truly gifted man.

Coach Gage and my parents all attended Hollywood High School together and reconnected years later when I attended Newport Harbor and played on the basketball team after his son Alan, who was a star there. He was a great coach and a wonderful man who was beloved and still remembered by the many students whose lives he touched in such a meaningful and positive way.

To Helen and family:I worked with Jules at Navy-Marine Corps Relief Soc, Camp Pendleton, CA, for many years. We always had a contest between us, as we tried to "out trick" each other. He will always have a special place in my heart. You are in my thoughts.

Jules Gage was one of the greatest men I have ever known. At one time I worked for him and it was one of the best times of my life. I loved Jules and Helen and he made a great impact in my life. He will always be remembered.

Jules was the manager at the San Onofre Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, and I worked with him through the Camp Pendleton office. Jules always had a positive attitude. A bit of a trickster in his bones, he did keep up laughing when he visited the main office. His dimples always brighened his smile even more. He loves sports, especially golf in his later years. He was so very devoted to his lovely wife, which was admirable to all of us. Jules will always live as a bright spot in my memory. Thank you for a life well lived to the hilt! ~Janice
