Jules Galinn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 2 to Feb. 3, 2021.
Jules Galinn, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, February 1, 2021, at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving and cherished wife of 36 years, Marilyn (Plisco) his children, Wendy, Albert and his wife Kim (Theiss), step-son, Brian Pinsky, Grandchildren Matthew, Sarah (Ryan)Ernst, Dylan Pinsky, Kara Pinsky, and Kobe Pinsky, and new Great-grandson Hunter, his brothers Harvey (Norma) Galinn, Dr. Joel (Leanore) Galinn, brother-in law, Dr. Irwin (Dale) Plisco in St. Louis and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, also from St.Louis, and many cousins and friends.

Jules was predeceased by his loving son, Scott Howard Galinn, his step-son, Jason Marc Pinsky, and his parents Lillian (Seidler) and Sam Galinn.

Jules was a devoted father to his family and enjoyed Birthday surprises by Wendy who would travel from Baltimore, arranging with Marilyn to pick her up at the airport and Wendy would arrive ringing the front door bell yelling SURPRISE. Jules looked forward to spring and summer breaks when his grandchildren would visit and turn his pristine home into what looked like a tornado came through. Wendy and Albert were fortunate to spend the last few days with their father before his passing. After his time in the army, in 1955,Jules worked as a salesman at the Original Luskin store on Park Heights , waiting to enter college. That never came to pass as Jack Luskin would eventually continue having Jules working at the office for 41 years as a Buyer as the one store turned into many stores. Jules retired in 1996. After staying home he decided in 1999 he wanted to move to Sunny South Florida. This was paradise for Jules and Marilyn, Jules going fishing with the guys, going to the beach, meeting up with old friends from Baltimore and acquiring many friends in their new community. He loved sitting on the lanai in his lounge chair, soaking up the warmth, listening to old music and snoozing, and enjoyed cruising . When the Pandemic prevented dining out, their driveway became a socially distant gathering of a few neighbors every evening. He was recently surprised on his 88th birthday by a Drive-by Birthday surprise.

Jules will be leaving a void in our lives, he was truly the loving, kindest, most compassionate, forever smiling gentleman. He was a true warrior when his Pancreatic Cancer was diagnosed. For 7 months he endured his treatments and several surgeries but he never lost that wonderful smile.

A virtual funeral will be held on Wednesday February 3, 2021, at 2:30pm. Please visit Levinson's website to view the service. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.
