Jules was really supportive of my science. He introduced me to the Middle East both Israel and Egypt. He was a renaissance man. There was no one like him. He set a high standard that I have tried to emulate

As a member of the Rockefeller University community I have very fond memories of Dr. Hirsch. Always one to wish me Gut Shabbos or Gut Yom Tov as appropriate. In addition to his valuable contribution to science he was a real mentsch. Always available to discuss any personal medical issue.
