In memory of
LILLIBET GILLESPIE
July 21, 2025
Julie has a special place in my heart. I am grateful to have been part of her journey in Ashland where I knew her without her 'titles', only as a mother and wife. She accepted her physical changes with little resistance, and with dignity and grace! I still hear her voice, and see her in my mind's eye in her and Bill's beautiful home. Thank you for inviting me into your life.

Thank you, Jake, for letting us know about Julie. I first met her when she had just been elected president of the board. Her enthusiasm for Cornerstones was contagious and her ability to understand various issues was impressive. She was a great friend to Cornerstones and a wonderful friend personally. Julie will be missed by all who knew her. Phyllis

Julia was one of the initial leaders that set the foundation for Cornerstone. She was a member that we always leaned on for guidance. I learned the importance of Cornerstone and by-laws from Julia
My condolences to the entire familia

Judge Ashbey was a true Champion of Women. I had the privilege of knowing her as a young girl when my mother, Clara Cody, served as her secretary for many years. I can vividly recall the excitement surrounding her appointment as the First Woman Judge in Monmouth County. It was no surprise that Judge Ashbey chose my mom as her secretary, as they were both strong, smart, empowering women who deeply admired each other. As a teenager, aside from my mom, Judge Ashbey was the only other woman I looked up to, and I even babysat for her girls on occasion. She exuded a powerful presence, brilliance, and compassion, and she had a wonderful family. Her memory lives on in my siblings and me, and we offer our sincerest condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
We miss you, Grandma

Dear Julie;
You're goin' to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take the sky
Thank you for the time together and for all I learned from you
Much love
My sincere condolences to Bill & Family Ashbey.
