I was privilaged to know Julia for many years. She was an interesting, thoughtful, energetic, intelligent woman I am grateful to have passed ways with. I was sorry that she ended up with cancer, grateful that she was at Enterprise (aka Brighten Gardens) and knew that she was in good hands there. She will be missed. My sympathies, Susan Edwards MD

Dr. Carver taught me to swim when I was a student at B.Y.U. Hawaii. I first met her in my "Fitness for Life" class in 1980 and then took two swimming classes from her. I know how to survive in water now thanks to Dr. Carver. She was my life saver.

I was privileged to become acquainted with Julia many years ago (1960s) when we both taught at BYU-Hawaii (in those years it was The Church College of Hawaii). She was held in high esteem by all of those with whom she was associated. She was a choice person.
