Julia Clary Obituary

SALUDA — Miss Julia Tinsey Clary of 268 Mineral Springs Road, Saluda, SC, died at Saluda Nursing Center on July 1, 2009. Miss Clary was born on January 25, 1923, in Saluda, SC, the youngest daughter of the late Mose Walton Clary and Beatrice Arcadia Workman Clary.
 
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Matilda Clary of Saluda, SC, one brother-in-law, William Dewirs of San Diego, CA, and a host of nieces and nephews.
 
Miss Clary retired from the Chem Lab at Monsanto in Greenwood. She was an avid fisherman, golfer and Carolina Gamecock fan.
 
At her specific request, no visitation or funeral will be held. Her body was cremated and was interred at Trinity Lutheran Church in Saluda. Condolences to the family may be sent to Dr. Larry G. Salters, 521 Water Garden Ct., Irmo, SC 29063.
 
Memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Dot Metts at 388 Rock Hill Road, Saluda, SC 29138; Greenwood YMCA, attention: Sandy Boazman, 1760 Calhoun Road, Greenwood, SC 29649 or Saluda Nursing Center, P.O. Box 398, Saluda, SC 29138.
 
Her family and friends will always remember her independent spirit and her many kind deeds to others. Since, as she requested, there was no funeral or visitation, for closure her nephew, Larry requests that those who knew and loved her say a prayer of gratitude for her life and do a good deed for someone.

Tinsy was one of the most favorite people I have ever known. We enjoyed many "left-handed" golf games together.
She was always the same and had a very big heart and was very generous to those in need. She will be greatly missed.

We have know Miss Clary for many years. When our children played little league ball her nephews played and Miss tinsy was always there. Several weeks ago I saw her and she asked about the boys. She was truly a wonderful person
