Julia Ann Ross Ernest, 88, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 3rd, 2009, at home in Searcy, Arkansas. She was born February 22nd, 1920, in McRae, Arkansas, to Columbus Dee and Sidney Exum Ross. She is survived by two daughters and one son and their families, Rebecca Ann Ernest Gross and husband, William, of Searcy; Deborah Lewis Ernest Webb and husband, Greg, of Searcy; and Robert Stanley Ernest and wife, Donna, of Batesville. She is also survived by five grandchildren and their families, William Wesley Gross and wife, Shelly, of Searcy; Rebecca Leigh Gross Hite and husband, Clay, of Searcy; Deborah Corrie Webb Perry and husband, Terry of Beebe; Joshua Alan Webb of North Little Rock, and Julia JoAnne Webb of Searcy and one step-grandchild, Aaron Hutsell of Springfield, Missouri. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ross and Logan Hite, and Madalyn and Libby Gross, all of Searcy, Cayden and Avery Perry of Beebe and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lester Lewis Ernest; one son, Ross Lewis Ernest; 4 sisters, Olga Vandiver, Exum Daniel, Norma Bajorsky and Jimmie Ross, and her parents. Julia Ernest was a loving Mother, Homemaker, and United Methodist Pastor's Wife, having served with her husband at charges in Griffithville, Moorefield-Southside, Grace (in Searcy), Rector, and Hazel Edwards Memorial (in Newark). She was a charter member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Searcy, the United Methodist Women, and the Wesley Sunday School Class, which she often taught.
