Julia Chrystal Humfleet

Julia Chrystal Humfleet, 93, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly. Born April 16, 1916, she was the daughter of Henry and Rose Jones. She was very proud that, as a child, she played basketball at Rough Creek Elementary School. She enjoyed watching UK basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball and doing crossword puzzles. On Feb. 8, 1943 Chrystal was married to Basil Humfleet, who preceded her in death in 1969. The couple had three children, Billie Ann (Bill) Baker, of Hebron, Ky., Deverle (Joann) Humfleet and Judy (Mike) Faulconer, both of London, all of whom survive. She is also survived by two siblings, Mildred (Cleveland) Wyatt and Vonita George, of London; one sister-in-law, Edith Jones; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Baker, of Hebron, Ky., Travis (Jennifer) Baker, of Florence, Ky., Shannon (Tim) Aguinaldo, of Burlington, Ky., Derek (Angie) Humfleet, of Lexington, Ky., Lauren (Justin) Hopkins, of London, Amanda ( Jeff) Davis, of Somerset, Ky., Jessica (Tyler) Preder, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; and nine great-grandchildren, Griffin Humfleet, of Lexington, Ky., Jordan Aguinaldo, of Burlington, Ky., Caroline, Nicholas and Ryan Baker, of Florence, Ky., Shelby and Ashlyn Davis, of Somerset, Ky., and Cole and Kaylee Preder, of Oak Harbor, Wash.She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Jones, one brother-in-law, J.R. George, and one great-grandchild, Logan Baker. Funeral visitation was at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2009, and funeral services were at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2009, at House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Burial was in Rough Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Baker, Travis Baker, Derek Humfleet, Tim Aguinaldo, Justin Hopkins and Jeff Davis.
