My condolences to the Smith and DeGuzman Families. Mrs. Smith was my 6th grade teacher at Makaha Elementary School. I thought she was very strict but it was not until I had become an adult that I realized why. I only have fond memories of her. My father and her were friends for many, many years. He only spoke highly of her. I will miss her.

The "Villanueva Family" of Waianae would like to extend their deepest condolences to the Smith Family.

I was blessed with the privilege of being taught by Mrs. Smith. She was my 6th grade teacher.

When I think of Mrs. Smith I remembered a song she tried to teach me. I remembered her getting upset with me because I could not remember the words to the song as she played it on her piano.

The name of this song was called ........... "More."

Which begins with .....
"More than the greatest love the world has known" ....

And so now years later.. I know the words to this song. And there is a very powerful message in this song.

Mrs. Smith had a great love for our Lord Jesus Christ. In her waking, sleeping, laughing and weeping our Lord Jesus Christ used Mrs. Smith's life as a testimony to testify of his great love for us.

Mrs. Smith I am so privileged to have known you and you will be missed but not forgotten and even in your passing you are still teaching me.

Thank you for the memories.

In Loving Memory Of Julia

As i sit here thinking of you
I feel as if ive lost my best friend
we spent over 50 years together
never loosing touch with each other..

As our children grew together
i saw you reach out to those in need
including me and my family
when we needed you....

You were always there to help me
through tough times
But also laugh with me in the good times...

You will remain with me always
even though you are gone
your spirit and faith in god
will help me go on....

I wish ny head could express
all the words my heart would like to say
but my emotions keep getting in the way...

So i will leave your family with this....

I v have always loved you
as if you were my own family
even more then some....

i will never forget the way you always called me "auntie Norah"

Call on me if you ever need me
even though if its just to remember Julie"Your Mom"
The way i will always remember her...
"Our Angel"

With Love Auntie Norah

If I had to name several people who had a positive impact in my life, "Mrs. Smith" would be one of them. Mrs. Smith was my 3rd & 6th grade teacher, and I'm sure that those of us who were fortunate enough to have her as a teacher, would agree that that in itself was a blessing.
Thank You Mrs. Smith

Mrs. Smith was one of my greatest mentors as long as I can remember. It was a true blessing to have been a student of hers. No matter how strict she was, it was her dedication and conviction that motivated me to become a repsonsible and well-mannered individual. If anyone reads this, you will know she was one of the greatest teacher that didn't sit down "like a bump on a log" but did her "cotton pickin'" job. Thank you Mrs. Smith for all you have done for me, I will forever keep you in my heart. My condolences to the entire family, friends and colleagues of Mrs. Julia M. Smith. "She is definitely worth taking your hat off for".

To the family of the late Mrs. Smith:
My prayers and condolences to the family. Mrs. Smith was a childhood friend of my dad, and Randy and I have known each other since we were five years old. The Salac-Deguzman connection continues with Corey and my daughter born only two months apart. There are so many memories over the years, Mrs. Smith was such a presence in the lives of so many kids at Makaha Elementary School. Be assured your mom's eternal rest is in God's house. Love and prayers to all and we'll see you this Friday.
