Julian Buxton-Rodriguez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 2 to Oct. 8, 2023.
Seattle - With deepest sorrow, we announce that Julian Christian Buxton-Rodriguez (Jules), age 32 our most beloved son, brother, family member, and friend passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Swedish Hospital, Seattle, Washington. Cremation with private Roman Catholic Funeral Rites has taken place and there will be no public service per Julian's request.

Julian was born January 14, 1991, in Newmarket, Suffolk, England to Joe L. Rodriguez Jr. and Deborah (Buxton) Rodriguez. He spent his formative years in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and lived in Seattle, Washington the last thirteen years of his life. Julian absolutely loved living and working in Seattle so much, it was hard-pressed to get him to come home and visit friends and family. Still, we were blessed he managed to come home on occasion to visit for Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Our beloved Julian was an extremely creative and artistic man, who enjoyed drawing, painting, and most recently began antiquing furniture and dcor. He also assisted in the design of his own tattoos. His creativity and love for interacting with people also allowed him to thrive and grow professionally at First Tech Federal Credit Union as part of the member development team and as a leasing consultant for Greystar Real Estate Partners.

There was not an animal Julian did not love. He had such a warm and incredible connection with animals. Julian has had some interesting pets over the years, a sugar glider, a scorpion, a turtle, and a rabbit. As a passionate dog and cat lover, Julian also considered sisters Sakura, Yuki, his Shiba Inus, and cat Abby to be special members of his family. Sakura and Yuki would accompany him on his many journeys where they forged their most lasting memories.

Julian had a lifelong passion for food. Inquisitive as a child, at nine months of age he managed to find a garlic clove and to our surprise, he enjoyed chewing and eating it. It was from that point we realized Julian would have an appreciation of exotic and international cuisines, especially Asian cuisine. He loved the art of food preparation and the beauty of plating. Julian would often watch one of his favorite programs on the Food Network Channel and emulate a recipe to prepare a delicious family meal.

Julian had an abundant zest for life and often "saw the world through rose-tinted glasses." It was his infectious smile, impish sense of humor, and razor wit that captured the hearts of his cherished friends and family. Those who knew Julian, even just a little, have lost a shining light in their lives. Julian will be missed every day by his loving parents Joe and Deborah, sister Tamzen, nephew Killian, as well as his grandparents, aunts, cousins, and many great friends.
