Julian Chappell Obituary
He was born in Perquimans County, son of the late Julian Chappell Sr. and Alethia "Verge" Miller Chappell. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Stroupe Chappell and a sister Julia Miller Chappell Black. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was the owner/operator of Triangle Texaco Service, an institution in Mount holly since 1923.
He is survived by his only son Julian Allen Chappell III and his wife Marlen of Alexis; two grandsons, Craig Ellis Jr. and Carl Hunter Chappell; two granddaughters, Ashley Bell and husband Phillip and Patricia Ellis; sister Mary Louise Chappell Meade and brother John Jordan Chappell Sr.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Chappell will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Hills Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Hills Chapel United Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice .

Chappy, I'm so sorry for your loss, your dad was always so nice to me my whole life growing up in Mt.Holly whenever I went into the station or riding my bike around the neighborhood. RIP Julian

Lots of fond memories from my youth of Mr. Chappel at Dogwood Dr and stopping by to get a cold drink at Triangle. He was a wonderful gentleman who was always helpful with a warm smile.
