Julian Mancel Waller, 78, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at his residence. Born November 19, 1939, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Mancel Waller and the late Grace Dunnavant Waller.

Julian worked at GE for five years before starting his own business in logging, which he did for 53 years. He was also a farmer and an avid hunter, who loved to rabbit hunt with his dogs. Julian attended Thomas Road Baptist Church. He was also a long-time member of Hyland Heights Baptist church, where he was the director of the bus ministries.

In addition to his parents, Julian was preceded in death by one sister, Vynette Arnold.

Julian is survived by his children, Barry Waller, Kristi W. Godsey and her husband Larry, Kecia A. Waller and stepson, W. Bryant Cook; two sisters, Joyce Waller and Shirley Carwile; six grandchildren, Adam Waller and his wife Paige, Cami Smith, Jordan Godsey and his wife Stacey, Marc Godsey and his wife Jessica, Tyler Godsey and Kathern Godsey and her fiancé Austin Blair; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at the Waller-Dunnavant Family Cemetery in Gladys.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynchburg Humane Society.
