My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I was blessed to have her in my life, if only for a short time! She was a wonderful lady with a heart of gold!

My Nanny was a wonderful lady, and I have seen more and more of that through the stories I have heard these past few days. It never has ceased to amaze me everything that she went through, and how many lives she touched. It seems like you only hear about people like this in books or movies, but we had our own hero right here in Middletown! I was constantly amazed at how little she had to give, but as much as she was willing to give, including to me. I had grown much closer with Nanny over the past few years after I moved to Indianapolis, and she became so much more than Nanny to me, because she was my counselor, confidant, and above all, a friend. I told her things I would never tell anyone else! I joke about the looooooong voicemails she used to leave me, but I knew she always meant well and just wanted me to know she was thinking of me! In the few days before she passed, we had some very intimate conversations. These talks always ended with such wise advice and a little bit of hope that everything was going to be okay. I always felt better and much more at peace after talking to her. She was always right! She believed everything happens for a reason, and her belief wouldn't differ for this time in our lives. She dedicated her life to learning about the Lord, and waiting for their meeting. What a wonderful thing to know that she has fulfilled her life-long goal! What a wonderful, intelligent, positive, caring, graceful, wise, and jubilant lady she was! I am proud to have known her, and to be her friend and granddaughter. I want to thank everyone that has been there for my family and I these past few days. Your thoughts, prayers, visits, and delicious food has helped us all! Thank you to the Robert D. Loose funeral home for helping grant my Nanny's wishes, and to Pastor Mike Schwartz who stepped in last minute to do the funeral service. ( Which was beautiful. ) It has been such a blessing seeing everyone come together and tell such fabulous stories about my grandmother! I hope this continues forever! God bless you all and thank you again! RIP Nanny.

When I first met Julie, her son, John had told me she was "like an angel on earth". I had no idea at the time, how true this statement was, until I really got to know Julie over the next four years. Nanny, as I came to call her, had the biggest heart and she was always prepared to help someone in need, human and/or feline. My fondest memory of Nanny was when she and my step daughter, Victoria came home with a tiny, malnourished, black kitten they had rescued, hoping I would agree to take it in and nurse it back to health. Of course I did, and it wasn't long before Nanny had me addicted to cats. John and I now have four cats (our fifth one died recently) and all have some connection to Nanny. She sure was an angel...and I miss her already. But now, when I look at our healthy, vibrant, black cat (Sissy)she saved three years ago, I will think of her and smile with joy...because that is what she brought to my life.
My prayers to Mark, Lisa, my husband-John and Mary...I am so very sorry for your loss.

I met Julie this fall at Bible Study Fellowship in Middletown. She was a part of our discussion group. Some Monday evenings, I would pick Julie up for bible study. I enjoyed our short drives to and from the church those evenings. She was totally a self-less individual. She always wanted to know about my family, my children, what I was doing. She loved the Lord, did her bible study faithfully and was a valued member of our group. I am just shocked by the news of her passing. We never know what God has in store for our lives, but I am so thankful that our paths crossed this fall and I got the chance to know, help and become friends with this lovely lady. My prayers are with all of her family.
