Julie Lathrop

PORT ALLEGANY - Julie A. Lathrop, 52, of Two Mile Road, passed away Sunday (Oct. 30, 2016) in the Bradford Manor, Bradford.
Born March 4, 1964, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Richard G. and Doris M. Austin Lathrop.
Julie was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1982.
Ms. Lathrop was a waitress and co-owner of the former Robin's Nest Restaurant in Port Allegany, and most recently was an insurance agent with Independent Associates of Willow St., Port Allegany.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Port Allegany, Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460 and Women of the Moose, Chapter 2188 both of Port Allegany. She was a Girl Scout Leader of Troop 20222 of Port Allegany, a life member of the Port Area Ambulance Service and former EMT, and EMT instructor.
Surviving, in addition to her father Richard G. Lathrop, and mother, Doris (Robert) Robbins, both of Port Allegany; are a sister, Cheryl D. Lathrop of Port Allegany; a brother, Richard K. (Melissa) Lathrop of Milford, Del.; a half-sister, Nicole L. (Michael) Torpey of Port Allegany; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Lathrop.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
