Julie Norris Mosley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 10, 2024.
Julie Louise Norris Mosley passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in Nash General Hospital the morning of July 9, 2024. She woke up in the arms of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 46 years old.

Julie was born on October 14, 1977 to Jim and Kim Norris. She graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor's degree in physical education. She had a passion for teaching physical education, and caring for seniors as the activity director at Rocky Mount Senior Center. She traveled around the world with her seniors to places including, but not limited to, London, Paris, Italy, and Alaska. She married her beloved David Mosley and they lived together in a cute house with their fur baby, Koozie, in Nashville, North Carolina. They loved grilling out. She fiercely loved and protected her brother and sister. She loved people and saw people for who they were, and loved them for who they were. She would do anything for anyone and had a servant's heart. She always said that her daughter was #1 in her life and lived vicariously through her.

She is survived by her husband David Mosley, her parents Jim and Kim Norris, her daughter Chloe Rolen, her step-daughter Cassie Linter, her sister Jamie Alford, her nephew Jaxon Alford, her brother Jeff Norris, her aunt Cindy Green, her cousins Amy Dill Hageman and Leslie Dill, and several more cousins.

The family will be having a celebration of life at Julie's parents house on Sunday, July 14 from 3-5pm. 2019 Knotty Pine Trl, Gastonia, NC 28056.

I first knew Julie as a young girl when I came to Foard in 1988. I was later blessed to coach her in basketball and she was a very tough player. Her last play as a high school basketball player was taking a charge and getting a concussion in the Sectional Finals. It was fitting to find out that she was giving of herself in her last job as well, working with senior adults. Coach Norris, Kim, Jeff, Jamie, Chloe and the rest of the family are in our prayers. Thank you for sharing her with us for awhile.

So very sorry for Coach, Kim, David, all of of the family in the loss of such a wonderful woman. My first memory of Julie was when I entered as a freshman at Fred T Foard, she was so very kind to me. She had a great passion for helping others, may her memory serve on in this world for the great work she completed.

I had the pleasure of working with Julie at the Rocky Mount Senior Center. I started as an intern and then became an employee after I graduated. She was always so helpful, fun, and welcoming to me and every single one of the seniors. They absolutely loved her and she absolutely loved them! She always put them first! She always listened to their wants and needs and made them the center of "the senior center". I missed her a lot when she left and saw her recently at the gym! She loved her daughter, fiance(at the time), and koozie! Those were the most important to her! She was one of the best! Rest peacefully Julie
