June Freeland Heard

Mrs. Heard taught me in 6th grade at Baker.
She was my favorite teacher. She left before the year ended due to their moving and I can still remember how upset I was. She was a great teacher and person. Her mother Mrs. Freeland also taught me at Baker.

If Mrs. Heard taught 2nd grade at Baker School in Mobile then I believe she taught me then. She seems so familiar to me.Im 66 yrs old so that was a long time ago. Im so sorry for her families loss.My Maiden name was Cash then.Mrs. Heard was a good lady and loved her students.RIP Mrs. Heard .

To the Family: My mother, Dorothy Stevens Gandy) and I send our condolences to the family. Mother spent many childhood days at her Aunt Floriene's house playing with cousins June and Bill. She loved talking to us about those times. Blessings to you all.

Melisa and family, I am saddened to see this. What a wonderful, lovely lady your Mom was. I taught with her at ER Dickson and as a young teacher would visit her classroom while my students were at PE. Her organization, her soft voice, and her many " teacher skills" helped me so much. She was a delightful co-worker and a true southern lady...and we all enjoyed hearing about you, Melisa. She was so proud of you. Thankful to have known her...thankful for the many lives she touched.
