June Holt

June Weidner Holt died peacefully at the age of 92 on January 22, 2018, while residing at Kirkland Village. She was the wife of Leon C. Holt, Jr. June was born on May 8, 1925 in Reading, PA. She is the daughter of the late Charles H. Weidner and Marguerite (Shoemaker) Weidner, both of Reading, PA. She is a 1947 Graduate of Cornell University, where she received her AB in Psychology. She worked in Human Resources for Western Electric, RCA Victor, and Cohn Hall Marx. For over 70 years, she was Leon's devoted wife, raising their children and supporting him throughout his career. June was a founding member of the Society of the Arts of The Allentown Art Museum. She served on the boards of United Way, YWCA, Wiley House (now KidsPeace), Lehigh Valley Hospice, Sacred Heart Hospital, and The Bach Choir of Bethlehem. June was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, Allentown. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, fly-fishing, skiing, painting with watercolors, cooking, reading, decorating, and party planning! June loved traveling with her husband and spending summers with her family at Pocono Lake Preserve. Surviving her are her husband, Leon C. Holt; a sister, Janet Kaiser (Kenneth); two children, Deborah Holt Weil and Richard W. Holt; five grandchildren, Michael Holt Weil (Greta Richter), Stephen Holt Weil, James Richard Holt, Emily Nicole Holt, Olivia Leigh Holt and predeceased by a granddaughter Leigh Nicole Holt; and two great-grandchildren, Holt Richter Weil and Ryan Hollis Weil. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 11 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 1629 W. Turner Street, Allentown, PA 18102. Reception following the service.
