June K. Palmer 89, of St. Clairsville passed away Saturday Christmas Day December 25, 2021, peacefully with her family by her side, at Friendship Village of South Hills. She was born September 8, 1932, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late E. Russell and Estella Kathryn (Murrin) Stein.
She graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1950. She worked at the former Picoma Industries, and on July 28, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart Robert Lee Palmer. They moved to Tucson, Arizona where she studied business at the University of Arizona and was a bookkeeper at Southern Bank and Trust. They moved back to Colerain, Ohio and eventually became Co-Owners of Stein-Palmer Printing in Martins Ferry.
She had 40 wonderful years with the love of her life enjoying bowling (The Lebanese Express), playing bridge, going to the dog track, and when not in Florida she enjoyed her time at the Seneca Lake house. But her favorite past time was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Lee Palmer in 1991, a brother Bill Stein, and a sister Estella Ferrier.
June is survived by her son Thomas (Melody) Palmer of Mooresville, NC, and her daughter Anna (Mark) Forse of Venetia, PA, 4 grandchildren Samantha (Chris) Peterson, Jake (Natalie) Palmer, Kara, and Shayla Forse, 3 great grandchildren Helena, Emmelene Peterson, and Kennedy Palmer.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry, Ohio on Saturday January 8, 2022, from 9am till time of service at 11am, with Rev. Joe Ellis officiating, interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Village of South Hills, 1290 Boyce Road, USC, PA, 15241-3921 c/o Team Member Appreciation Fund make Checks Payable to: TMAF/FVSH, or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides (the "A" team) at Friendship Village of South Hills Care Unit and the nurses and aides of OSPTA Hospice. You are all Angels!! The care, compassion and family like atmosphere was amazing.
