June and I met when our children were very young and of the same ages. She was a steadfast friend, a great supporter of my work, and always there to give me praise and confidence. What a wonderful friend she was. Even though our lives drew apart, I knew she was there for me.
My belated condolences are full of love for my friend, June Penner-Schneider.

June, You know how I admired and respected you, especially all you did for the profession of School Social Work. You are one of the last to have known the founders of IASSW and you were very dedicated to seeing that the direction the organization took through the years, as it developed into the impressive organization it is today, stayed loyal to the intentions of the founders. I will miss our lunches and remembrances of the developments of IASSW and our profession.

June was my mother's friend from the 1950's, and though they hadn't been in touch for many years, they had a great history together. My condolences.

June was my Mom's most loyal and enduring friend, and Debra and I came to see her as family. I will feel her loss deeply -- not only because of her caring nature and many loving qualities, but because she takes away with her a piece of my Mom, a piece of my memories. It's as if I continued to feel my Mom's presence so long as June was here with us. I cannot think of her without thinking about a huge holiday meal she once hosted for us that included the famous cranberry horseradish relish... and the wonderful way she told stories, like the story of Zuma on the run. My deepest condolences to Susie, Ellen, Peter and all your family. We are never too old to mourn the loss of a wonderful parent, and I share your sorrow. With affection, Leslie Millenson
