June Reichle Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 26, 2024.
Fayetteville - June Carol Greene of Shelby married Paul Allen Reichle Jr. after meeting as teachers at Davie County High School in Mocksville, North Carolina. June Carol matriculated at Women's College in Greensboro and Paul at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They had two children, Carol Fay and Paul lll. June Green Reichle transitioned to be with Christ our Savior early Monday morning, November 11, 2024 at 1:23 A.M. She would have been 93 on her birthday, November 24th. She was receiving exceptional care from The Carolina Inn at Village Green, an assisted living facility in Fayetteville. She suffered from multiple compression fractures of her spine and had been living at the Carolina Inn for over two years. She survived Covid twice with the diligent work and compassion of their nurses and CNAs. June's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Dec. 7th at 12:00 P.M. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 302 Green St., Fayetteville, NC. Donations in her memory may be made to the church. Paul Allen Reichle Jr. transitioned on May 6th of 2017 at the North Carolina State Veterans' Home in Fayetteville which recently closed. The family is grateful to each facility. June started the food services program at Terry Sanford High School in 1978 after teaching Home Economics at E.E. Smith in Fayetteville. She was active in PEO, Garden Club, and Alter Guild and enjoyed sewing for herself and Carol. She sang in the choir at St. John's. June Carol had a strong wit, warmth, and compassion, and these traits served her well as a teacher of young people. She is survived by her son, Paul lll, and daughter, Carol Fay Burkett, her husband Edward Burkett, and their son Eddie. The Greene family continues to flourish in Shelby, and the ASR Grain company contributes to the local economy. Her loss deeply is felt in the community of Fayetteville. Thank you to all of those who supported her with love and friendship especially in the later years of her life.
