My Aunt, Betty Pellow (Elizabeth Fish) was a friend of June's all her life and she died a couple of years ago. In February her husband Fred died at the age of ninety and in looking through their home I find lovely letters from June. What a wonderful

Dear Mary and Family,
My condolences to you all. I really do have fond memories of your mother when I used to visit Jan on 27th St. I always enjoyed her sense of humour and wit and she always seemed genuinely interested and caring about how Jan and I were getting on with our lives. My thoughts are with you.

June's passing is another light gone from her generation of the O'Grady family-- smart, witty, and compassionate, caustic when the situation demanded it, tender when the situation cried out for it. She leaves a vivid legacy in her family and in her writing.
