How I wish I had known of Juraj's passing. I worked with him for 13 years at Meridian Int'l Center. He had boundless energy and constant good cheer. I will share this sad news with other former colleagues.

Dear Julie, Nicholas and Michal and the whole family,
We share your grief at the passing of your beloved Duro. We fondly remember his kind and friendly personality and his admirable lifelong energy and caring for the whole family, which we had the opportunity to experience personally during his visits in Czechia and from his regular phone calls. We will remember with gratitude his invaluable efforts to preserve the legacy of our grandfather, Juraj Slávik. The memories of Duro are and will remain very vivid in our families, and we feel united with you in remembering him despite the considerable distance between our homes.
We are saddened and present in our minds at your farewell to him.
With love
Hanka, Tána and Petr, Martin and Vladka and our families

My condolences to you and your family. My husband, John Eldridge, introduced me to Juraj and Julie. We enjoyed sharing many wonderful events with them. I know his "memory will be a blessing".

Slavik family is fully and deeply embedded into the Slovak Embassy in Washignton DC. Ambasador´s working table proudly bears name of Ambassador Dr. Slavik as well as Juraj. His passion for Slovakia will never die as well as legacy of his whole family.

Juraj was a continual source of information for me and my philatelic colleagues regarding the Czechoslovak government in exile in Great Britain as well as the Czechoslovak military forces that assembled there during WW 2. He was always generous with his time and knowledge. He was a consummate gentleman and a welcoming acquaintance.

It was a pleasure to meet and talk to such a man as Jan, who had an infectious sense of enthusiasm.
