It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of JW Reeder, who left this world on February 2, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on March 4, 1939, in Buffalo, Texas, to Fannin Carroll and Marjorie Nell (White) Reeder, JW was one of four boys in his family. His early years were spent in Palestine, Texas, where he graduated from high school before embarking on a life dedicated to family, faith, and service to his community.

JW and his beloved wife, Betty (Henson) Reeder, spent the early years with their children in the Conroe area, where they were active members of the First Baptist Church. It was here that JW was ordained as a deacon and became a respected leader of the Royal Ambassadors group, as well as served on the Baptismal Committee. A skilled tradesman, JW was a proud member of the Pipefitters Local 211, contributing his expertise to countless projects throughout his career.

In 1978, JW and Betty returned to Buffalo, where they established Reeder Air Conditioning. For forty years, JW graciously served the community until his retirement. Even in his later years, JW remained a devoted Deacon and trustee to the First Baptist Church in Buffalo, engaging in various work projects and further embodying his steadfast faith.

A member of the Buffalo Masonic Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M., JW embraced fellowship and fraternity throughout his life. He cherished the simple joys-especially the FBC Men's Breakfast-and found great pleasure in tending to his farm, mowing with his trusty tractor, and watching car racing on television.

JW was preceded in death by both of his parents and three brothers, Billy Frank Reeder, Jerry Wayne Reeder and Ellis Ray Reeder.

JW is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (Henson) Reeder of Buffalo; son, Darrol Reeder (Rhonda) of Grand Prairie; daughter, Kay Bell (Gary, Jr.) of Groesbeck; grandchildren, Kyle Wayne Reeder, Seth Henry Young and Dannie Laura Young; brother-in-law, Thomas "Tom" Henson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and special friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

A funeral service honoring JW's life was held 10 A.M., Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church, Buffalo, Texas. Pastor of the church, Rev. Alan Grisham, along with Pastor Ted Gross, officiated the service, and interment followed in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, Texas.
