Kai Chang Obituary

~*~*~*~*~*~*~ PAP ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Our Dad can best be defined as a man of great integrity, courage, and inner strength. He believed in the goodness of people and guided us quietly, always trusting that he had instilled in us the values necessary to choose the right path. He led by example, and lived his life with utmost honesty.

He lived an unselfish life, always putting others before himself. He helped his family and friends in any way he could, never expecting anything in return. He never compromised his values and always did the right thing, even under the most difficult of circumstances. He was always fair and treated everyone equally.

He faced many adversities throughout his life, but he refused to be defeated. He fought courageously and always landed on his feet. Through it all, he stayed true to his character and remained true to his values of friendship, loyalty, kindness, generosity, and love.

All those close to him, knew that they would always have his love and support. With him in our lives, we were never alone. He had 50, 60, and even 70 year old friendships, unbreakable bonds that withstood the test of time and distance.

Pap, as he was lovingly referred to by his children and his six grandchildren, gave true meaning to the words unconditional love. He was a great friend, a loving husband, an amazing father and an extraordinary grandfather. The bonds he formed with each of his grandchildren were truly unique and special. They were his "jefes," the apples of his eyes. He filled their lives with love and gave them the greatest gift of all, the gift of his time. Time that was filled with affection and undivided attention.

During his entire life he worried not about himself but about his family and loved ones. Even though he became very ill, he continued to look after us until the very end. As we took care of him, he would tell us "I'm ok, go to sleep, go get some rest." He also kept his sense of humor and made us smile on many occasions. When my sister told him she was going to take a nap, he replied, " OK, take 3!!!" He continued to care for us in any way he could. As he became more ill, he did all he could to let us know he was still there with us. With a smile, a kiss on the hand, or a gentle squeeze of our arm, he continued to give us strength and courage and continued to let us know that we were all loved fully and unconditionally.

During his last few weeks, he was constantly surrounded by those that loved him most. His wife, his children, his daughters and son in law, and his grandchildren, never left his side. A true testament to how deeply he was loved and to how deeply he touched each and every one of our lives.

He was dearly loved by all of us, he will never be forotten and he could never be replaced!

He summarized his desire for us in two simple words, "live good". Two simple words that held so much meaning. Live a good life. Be good to others, be faithful, be true, be honest, and kind. Be supportive of one another and live in unity.

He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, love, loyalty, and kindness.

We love you Pap and we'll miss you dearly!

Until we meet again, YOU'll be forever in Our Hearts.

It is almost a year since you physically left us and still it seems like yesterday. I can still hear your voice, laughter, and the jokes you told that always made me smile. Words can never describe how much I miss you. You are, and will always be in my heart. 'Till we meet again.
I love you pap.

We cannot find words to express our sorrow for the loss of our beloved brother. He has left a deep emptiness that can never be filled, however, the happy moments we shared with him will always be treasured and cherished and he will forever live in our hearts.

Our hearts go out to Ceci and family and we are praying that the Lord grant us strength and comfort during this difficult time. Santos & Hoj

Tio Yung was an example to us all, someone whose warmth and honesty brought comfort to those around him. He valued his family above all else. He left much to be admired, both as a patriarch and as a man of enterprise. We miss him dearly.

It has been 3 months and I still cannot believe that I cannot pick up the phone and call him to chat. He is greatly missed but forever will live in my heart. I don't know who was more sarcastic, he or I, but we sure had a great time "dishing" it out.
