Katy was born in Bountiful, Utah, on August 2, 1985, and died on June 26, 2024, of a broken heart.
Katy married Charlie Skinner on July 11, 2007, the love of each other’s life, and together they had the most beautiful twins.
They had just started a beautiful life together, a new home, a perfect boy and a girl. However, when those babies were only three weeks old, Officer Charlie Skinner was killed in the line of duty with the North Salt Lake Police Department. Katy was never able to recover from such a complete loss.
She loved her twins. Emma is an amazing volleyball player and a fiery redhead. Zack has significant autism and has worked hard every single day to become the sweetest boy imaginable.
Katy loved to work, and definitely got her strong work ethic from her father and grandfather. She excelled in all of her jobs, including the most recent with Morgan Marketing.
Katy is survived by her children Emma & Zack, her grandmothers Janet Johnson & Patricia Eudy, her mother Susan (Dave) Copeland, and her father Gary (Tammy) Koehn. She is also survived by her siblings, Abigail (Dave) Kaauwai, Grayson (Brandon) Blackmon, and Madison (Toby) Schroeder, plus one nephew and two nieces.
A viewing will be held from 12:45-1:45 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful.
