I taught Kale in 2nd grade. I have so many great memories of Kale! My favorite memory is when I was lining the class up to go outside and Kale and Mrs. Yancey were behind me talking. Kale told Mrs. Yancey that he is named after food groups. He said Kale is a vegetable and Colby is cheese and Johnson makes food. I remember hearing Mrs. Yancey laugh so har. He laughed and said his mom must have been hungry the whole time she was pregnant. He skipped out of the classroom smiling. That has to be one of my favorite memories of Kale.

Kale had an amazing ability to make Mrs. Yancey and I smile and laugh. He was very protective of the people in his circle as well. I loved the flowers he brought me on the last day of school, he was so excited and proud that he was able to bring flowers.

My heart broke when I heard the news about Kale. He was one of my favorite students. I will always remember him and the time I was able to spend with him.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.

I remember meeting Kale at Archway Trivium East. He was a spunky first grader who had no hesitation asking me who I was as I visited his classroom to support another student. Kale and I became quick pals. When I visited, he made sure to tell me about the latest adventures with his dog. Kale's spunky, "mighty mouse" spirit stole my heart. It reminded of the spirit resembled in my son, just two years younger.

My heart sank at the news of his passing. I am very grateful that I stopped him on his last day of school at Trivium West as he began to bolt for the door. He gave me a big smile, and I gave him a hug with just a few words, "Have fun Kale. We'll miss you."

Moss and Johnson family, may God bring you a heavenly peace that surpasses understanding. You are in my heart and prayers.
