I have very fond memories of Kanwal and Mr.Yodh's visit to Maya and Marty's home in the early 90s. I was always taken by Kanwal's determination and courage. Straight forward to the point of being funny, Kanwal was never afraid to learn new things and pursue her passions. We spent hours talking about her youthful days in Lahore-a city where both she and I were born. three to four decades apart.
Like her name, Kanwal stayed bright and glorious despite the challenges she was surrounded with. God bless Kanwal. She will always stay beautiful and vivacious on our hearts.

Dearest Uncle Gaurang, Maya, Arjun and Jaya,
Have such wonderful memories of your Aunty Kanwal....especially our "gossip sessions". Loved her sense of humor!! She was truly fun to chat with over the phone, whenever we connected.
May she rest in peace and May God bless her soul.
Love,
Onjali

Gaurang:
flipping the pages of the Post the other day, I was saddened to see a familiar face from any years ago when you were in Maryland. The loss of one's life partner is so very hard but the many wonderful years you had together made it worth all the pain....that is the price we pay for a loving marriage and the family that goes with it. From Maryland, my thoughts are with you. Barbara glover

Kamal and I worked together at Northwood High School. We were colleagues and we were friends. Her assistance in preparing for biology labs was invaluable. Her cooking was simply amazing!
Sue and I got to know all of the Yodh family. We watched the kids grow up; we listened to Gaurang play the sitar.
Kamal and I shared stories about each other and about our families. She was a remarkable individual who gave so much to her family, her friends and her students. She will be missed very much.

Dear Arjun, Maya, Jaya and Dr Gaurang Yodh,
It has been many, many years since I had the pleasure of seeing any of you. So sorry to learn of your mom's passing. As a kid growing up and counting Arjun as one of my best friends we often spent time at the Yodh's home. Little did I appreciate the many talents and gifts that Arjun's mom offered to her family and to the greater world. It was quite eye opening to read what a blessing she was to all who knew her, and no doubt these things were passed on to her children and grand children (although it was not yet obvious that those qualities had rubbed off on Arjun when we spent grade school through high school together). Wishing you all the best during this difficult time and may God grant you peace in your hearts as you remember her. I will always have fond memories of my time at the Yodh home...their hospitality and Mrs Yodh's cooking.
Warmly,
Danny Berbert

Dear Jaya,
I am very sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I remember your recount of your daily phone calls to your mom ... and the food that you made. I remember your chicken curry, which was from your mom, when we were in Baltimore. I still have it, and I make it for my family at times. We all love it.
Your mom was a great person, and a great mom. Please accept our condolences.

It is sad to loose a dear friend of our family. Kanwall was very kind loving and generous. We are fortunate to have the Yodhs in our Unihills neighbourhood at uci. We enjoyed her company at our Unihills book club for several years. Kanwal will be missed but her spirit will be with us.

Such a devastating loss of a great woman. We send our deepest sympathies to her family and feel lucky that we have known her children who carry on many of their mother's strengths and talents. We have fond memories of Kanwal's visits to Atlanta to see her daughter Maya, son-in-law Marty and grandkids. We recall her sharp mind, devotion to family, and artistic talent; her impressive biography tells us so much more of her life of energy, compassion, and service to others. Dear Gaurang, Arjun, Maya and Jaya and family
,
Please accept my condolences as you mourn the passing and celebrate the life of the incomparable Kanwal Yodh.
Jaya, your remembrance of your mother is brilliant. I loved how you illuminated the scope of her many accomplishments and also the aspects of life that she found challenging. I did not know the extent of her involvement with writing, art and knitting and I marvel at that as well.
From my first memories as a child, I recall Mrs. Yodh as a challenging force of nature. I will remember her for her wit and passion for life. My gratitude for the love and support that she gave my parents is without bounds.
Love,
Tubu

Maya and Family,
I remember your Mom well from my visits to your house when we were at Rochester. She was always welcoming and I loved coming to Maryland. I enjoyed the wonderful music and unique instruments and of course, the food. Please give my condolences and a hug to your father, to Arjun and to Jaya, and a big hug to you as well.
