Karen Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2025.
Karen Elizabeth Allen, born on March 20, 1946, in Ludlow, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home in Cottonwood, AZ with family on May 10, 2025, due to secondary complications from Alzheimer's Dementia. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Susan Gran, brothers Kenny and Barry Gran and her husband Charles Allen and survived by her sister Beverly Litchfield and brothers Bruce and Karl Gran, son Jay Pond and daughter Diane Turner. Moving from Sylmar, California to Cottonwood, AZ, Karen spent several years as a full-time caregiver for her late husband Charles, mother Susan and Aunt Jeanne. She felt blessed being able to spend time with and help raise her grandchildren, Brittney Turner, Kristin, Robby and Rebecca Pond, and later, her great-grandchildren Maci, CJ and Ashton Turner. Karen was a long-time member of Verde Valley Christian Church, enjoying the teaching, worship music and small group community. The friends that she made in her small groups were very valuable to her and helped to provide love, support and laughter in her life. Despite enjoying family and friends in Arizona, Karen's heart was forever camping on California beaches and at Big Alum Lake in Massachusetts. We would like to thank family and friends for all the support that was given to us before and after her passing. A special thanks to AZ Life Hospice and their wonderful staff, specifically Deb and Cintya, who provided extraordinary care for our family.

The love of my Aunt was quietly powerful - steady, kind, comical at times and long lasting. Though she is gone, her legacy lives on in my heart and in the lessons she shared with me. I hope her soul is at peace and her spirit continues to guide me. I will never forget the road trip to Monterey, in the short bus, and the trip in Norther Cali with the camper . Fun, fun, fun times! XOXOXOX

What can you say about a sister who was always there for you. Who was your best friend. Not only to me, but so many others. She made me laugh and cry. She took care of our mom until she passed. The most compassionate person I have ever known. I miss her every day. Say Hi to Peter in heaven for me. Forever on my mind, always in my heart.
