Karen (Fletcher) Barber

Karen (Fletcher) Barber, age 73, of Ellington, CT, beloved wife of Jeffrey Barber passed away after a long illness at St. Frances Hospital with her husband of 51 years and their two daughters by her side. She was born January 27, 1946 in New Britain, CT. Daughter of late John and Anne (Parkinson) Fletcher, she grew up in East Hartford, Vernon, and Ellington. She graduated from Ellington High School and received her BA from Chamberlain College in Boston. She married her husband on June 22,1968 at St. Luke's Church in Ellington CT. After working in Human Resources for the G Fox company, Karen loved her job as a seamstress & costume designer for Riley's School of Dance, where she made many friends over the years. Karen is survived by her husband Jeffrey Barber and daughters Tracy Lawler and her husband Kevin of Enfield, CT, and Jenni Guarino and her husband Paul of Broad Brook, CT, her 5 grandchildren Mackenzie Catherine, Delaney Lynn, and Owen Barber Lawler, and Enzo Nicholas and Luciana Nellie Guarino which she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her sister Maryanne Sazinski, and Brother Jack Fletcher, both of Umatilla, FL. There will be visiting hours on Wednesday, October 23rd from 5pm – 7pm at Ladd and Carmon Funeral Home located at 19 Ellington Ave, Rockville, CT 06066. The immediate family will have a private service at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to South Lake Animal League, 4648 Baptist Island Rd., Groveland, FL 34736, where she found our rescue dog Ty Barber.
