Karen Bradbury Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 14, 2006.
Karen Joy Boyd Bradbury, 39, of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., formerly of Bettendorf, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2006. Minutes before her daughter, Joy Elise Bradbury, was born. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at First Assembly of God Church, Bettendorf, at 3 p.m.
Karen was born December 19, 1966, in Galesburg, Ill. Her parents, Larry and Myrtle, along with her two brothers, Larry and Darin, and her sister, Mary, happily welcomed her home. A year and a half later Karen's sister, Dawn, was born, completing the family.
In her following years, she was involved in church sharing her beautiful voice, working in Children's Church and Sunday school. In school, she was involved in many extracurricular activities. After graduating from Pleasant Valley High School, she attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minn.
On October 13, 2001, in Coloma, Calif., Bill and she were married. Two years later they moved to Mammoth Lakes, where they began laying down roots in the community. They were both employed by Meadowridge Resort as assistant managers.
Those left to honor her memory are William Bradbury and Joy Elise, husband and daughter; Myrtle and Jerry Bogart, Mother and Dad (stepfather), Bettendorf; Larry Boyd, brother, Rock Island; Mary Helen (Rick) Lund, Moline, and Dawn Boyd, Chicago, sisters; Suzanne Bogart, stepsister, Colona, Ill.; Vera Mary Scalf, grandmother, Bettendorf; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Larry, her brother, Darin, her grandparents, Edward and Helen Boyd/Ross and Gilbert Scalf.
Memorials may be made to Joy Elise Bradbury at DHCU Community Credit Union.
