Mom,
You fought a good fight
As you battled cancer once again.
You had won the first battle with cancer,
However, this time the cancer seemed to be winning.
Therefore, we painfully watched as the cancer slowly
Started to win the battle, knowing we could not
Help in this fight except to be there for love and support.
The cancer kept winning...
And we knew your time was growing short.
As hard as we kept trying to accept what was happening,
We were not ready to let you go.
Nevertheless, God looked down and saw your pain and suffering.
With mercy in his heart, God stopped your suffering.
As the cancer finally won the battle,
He gave you a place in His eternal world,
Free from pain and suffering.
Though it broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone, for part of us went with you,
The day when God finally took you home.
In time our hearts will heal, but know that
You are still loved by all of us.
We will keep your precious memory alive,
Remembering and treasuring the moments we had.
For deep within our hearts, we will know that
You are always with us,
Watching over us with tender loving care.

Dear Darl and Family,
It is with regret that I heard of Karen's passing. I remember her as a quiet, sweet friend from Mt. Vernon Academy. She was a pretty face with a pleasant smile and I can still see her clearly at our young ages during our teen years. God bless you all as you mourn and remember her. Heaven awaits! Love, Patsy

Darl, Cheryl and Darla,
My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. May you be strong just as Karen would want you to be. I am sure she is looking down at us and wondering what "all the fuss is about" in her always practical sense of humor! I will never forget Karen and her matter-of-fact approach to her illness. You were truly blessed to have shared her life with her and those of us that worked with her can honestly say she inspired us by her bravery. She was a wonderful nurse and most of all, a great friend. God's blessings always. Elaine

Want you all to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Mom Coon has inspired many of us through her love for the beauty of the out doors. Plus her great taste for picking some terrific ice creams. She will be forever in my heart and memories. She definitely left a great legacy for all of us and will always be remembered. I send my sincere condolences to my best friend and second family.
