Karen was a co teacher of mine at Roseville Community PreSchool. She was wonderful at sharing herself and her talents with us. She had us all laughing with her whenever something stuck her funny bone. My life will always be better because Karen was in it and I will always love her and respect her many talents. She was a gift to us all!! Ann Klein

I was blessed to have worked with Karen at RCP . She taught me storytelling and gave me the courage to tell stories to the children. My kids grew up with fond memories of her storytelling . Her generosity and grace were beyond measure . I am just know learning of her death and am deeply saddened . The world is not the same . My love to all of her family . My daughter Suzy was friends with Jessica and Adrienne and had fond memories of times spent at the house. Karen was always so kind and loving .

I have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Karen! Times at Bethel Lutheran, times with our kids when they were young, travels that we scored by how many U-turns we had to take, playing games, celebrating the New Year or Thanksgiving, beach adventures and quiet times with heart-to-heart talks and dreaming. Being with Karen was so much fun, but also made one think more deeply as she shared her insights into topics of the day. She not only loved her family and friends, but also loved humanity as a whole, and was devoted to bringing about a more just society. I feel incredibly blessed to have shared so many wonderful times with such a very special friend.

The Union tribute to Karen written by her loved ones is beautiful, inspiring and so true. Her spirit abides with those she touched.
