I have so many great memories of my time with Karen. She is the person who got me so interested in horses. I remember my family would come visit from Mississippi and I couldnt wait to go to the horse stables to see Jubilee with Karen. She taught me how to care for horses, which helped alot when my parents finally bought one for me. I also have great memories from our child hood, spending time at our grandmother's house in the country. Like the time my grandmother's cow chased us into the storm cellar in the pasture and we were stuck down there with the cow standing at the door looking at us. That still makes me laugh, although at the time, I thought we'd be stuck in there forever. Also, the long walks in the woods we would take. Playing on the big pile of gravel by the old church and hearing a LOUD scary noise in the woods. Karen, my sister and my brother took off running and left me behind. I was probably around 5 or 6 at the time. Its these good memories that keep us going.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

I worked for some years at CPS with Karen and her untimely death has truly upset our work family. She was a kind and quiet person, who worked hard, and had passion for the children she worked with, the animals she loved and her friends and family. Her passing leaves a mark and an emptiness not to be forgotten.

Karen and I started our careers at DSS on the same day on Nomeber 13, 1990. I am keeping her and her family in my prayers. She will be missed, but she lived a life of service and has made a difference.

I knew Karen years ago through Pawprints Agility Club and was saddened when I heard of her passing. A favorite memory is when she held agility "practice" at her house and let my son Robert go feed and pet her horses. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family ... she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

It is with much sadness that I feel in learning of Karen's passing.

May the Lord receive her with open arms.

Karen was one of the best friends I have ever had. Her kindness and compassion toward all people and animals. Her cheerful optimism, determination, independent spirit and generous nature were a blessing to everyone who encountered Karen. I am so fortunate that she spent time in my life and taught me so much. I am so fortunate that Karen's encouraging voice and words will always be there when I need them. She will be truly missed but Karen will never be forgotten.

I know of no other calling greater that to make children of broken homes feel loved and wanted as I'm sure Karen did so with such elegance and grace...
She was a fellow classmate and will be missed by all.
I pray that our Lord will somehow provide you comfort during this time of sorrow and somehow allow you to miss Karen's temporary presence in your life, but to find the strength to rejoice in her eternal home...

In HIM...

Karen was a lovely person and will be missed greatly by all of her friends. I have wonderful memories of her with my children, times spent on the tracking field, and watching her advance in the obedience and agility world. She will be missed by the many lives that she has touched.
