My deepest sympathies to the Krzyzewski and Hussar families. I grew up in Parkwood Hills and was fortunate to go to high school with Karen.
Karen had a beautiful spirit and was unfailingly kind, generous and compassionate with others. She was also fun, quick to smile and laugh, intimidatingly smart and very creative!
Thank you for the beautiful and moving service that honoured all that Karen was. I saw firsthand that Karen's family and friends share so many of her beautiful attributes.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this very difficult time. A tragic loss for Karen's loved ones and the entire community. Here's hoping in the journey ahead you'll sense a level of comfort in knowing that the entire community is surrounding you with much love and human compassion.
Blessings and heartfelt condolences to your family.

To Karen's beloved children:
Your mom and I were bus friends for a lot of years. We would ride home in the evenings with me enjoying her peaceful positive presence, gentle voice and lovely smile. We would often discuss our lives - joys and difficulties. The one thing I will always remember is how deeply your mom loved you. Continue being the wonderful young people you are. She was so very proud of you both. My thoughts are with you.

Karen was a kind soul and you could always count on her for her help. When tragedy hit our daughter's life, Karen was there with their other friends to help ease the pain. Strange how small this world is, we didn't know that John, her dad was also known to our family.
Thinking of you all during this tragic and heart breaking times. Karen will always hold a special place in many hearts.

Karen and I grew up together, and lived around the corner from one another. We lost touch after high school, but I renewed contact with Karen after meeting her again when I was working in Gatineau. She was still the calm, kind, compassionate person I knew growing up. My sincere condolences to the Hussar and Kryzyzewski families. May your treasured memories of Karen give you some comfort during this difficult time.

To Karen's friends and family, please accept my sincere sympathies. I worked with Karen in the 90s at LAC. We would meet in the lunch room at breaks and lunch. She was always soft spoken, thoughtful and kind and she was always doing her crafts. I remember her by her gentle smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. She will be greatly missed.

My condolences to Karen's family. I remember Karen in highschool, particularly in Mrs. McGregor's Grade 12 English Lit class. Karen had a mischevious glint in her eye, and pithy comments to make in any class discussions. Karen merited several mentions in the poem Mrs. McG. wrote at the end of the year for the class.

Karen ("Kawren") was my dear friend at J.S. Woodsworth in grades 10 and 11. Sadly, we lost touch, but I will always remember her independence, her warmth and sense of humour, her special laugh, and the little "mirth" button she wore to school every day. My deepest sympathy to Karen's family. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I worked with Karen at the National Library in Les Terrasses de la Chaudiere in 1993. She was one of the kindest, gentlest people I ever knew. I was not really happy with my job there, but Karen did so much to make me feel welcome and at ease.
I haven't seen her in many years but she was one of those people that you always remember for their outstanding qualities. I was shocked and saddened when I read about this tragedy. I feel so sorry for Karen and all her friends and family. My deepest sympathies are with you.

Although I knew Karen through work at NL/LAC, it wasn't until the bus strike 5 years ago that I really got to know her. Driving into work with her every day, we would talk about anything and everything, especially our kids. She was one of the kindest people I ever met. My sympathies go out to her children, family and friends.

Although we never had the pleasure of meeting your Mother, at a time like this, it is hearts that meet. I find myself thinking a lot of her and the vulnerability of all of us as we go about our daily lives; I am the same age as your Mom with two grown girls and like her, take the bus to work every day. My heart breaks for your loss and I offer my deepest sympathy.

I worked with Karen at LAC for over 20 years. I retired in 2009. This summer I met Karen on bus 67 and also Thursday, September 12 at Place d'Accueil. Karen suggested that I ride with her on the 67 instead of the 65. Karen talked about empty nesters and we exchanged on this since I went through that many years ago. She was so proud of her young adult children, Natasha and Miles. She was a kind, lovely person. I am very saddened by her passing away. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Karen's children, Natasha and Miles, her family, friends, co-workers. Carmelle Gagnon

My condolences to Karen's children, Natasha and Miles & her immediate family. Karen & I shared a desk for a couple of years while working at Terrasses Chaudieres for Library & Archives Canada. We used to exchange experiences and stories about parenthood. Karen is one the people I sought out to say goodbye & talk to before my retirement last October 2012. I remember vividly that we spoke for a good 20 minutes right by the elevators & again the main topic was about our respective children. Karen was very proud of both her children & was a very caring mother and a good woman. I am very saddened by her passing away. God bless you Karen & your family.
