Karen Sue Lawrence, (Sears), affectionately known by many as "Nan," passed away on June 18, 2024, at the age of 63 in Lexington, Kentucky, Born on January 21, 1961, lived in somerset Kentucky, Karen spent many dedicated years working at the United States Postal Service, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and diligence.
Karen's zest for life and boundless energy made her a beloved figure in her community and beyond. She possessed a magnanimous spirit, always extending a helping hand and a listening ear to those around her. Her kitchen was a hub of warmth and delicious aromas, a testament to her love for cooking and gathering people together. Karen's presence was a comfort and joy to her family, friends, and essentially every child she encountered, earning her the cherished nickname "Nan."

She leaves behind a loving family who cherished every moment spent with her: sisters Carla Sears Cook and Darla Sears Miller; brother Jason Sears; children Cayla Weaver, Kira Dixon, and stepson Eddie Weaver (Kassandra); Karen also had a special bond with Karissa Chamberlain (Bonus Daughter) and grandchildren Colby Quibodeaux, Kinleigh and Isabella Stiles, Erika Dixon, Keehan Lazenby, as well as Austin, Tristin, Ashlin, and Zelha. (bonus granddaughter), Matishaus Maples, and her son, Legend Ace. Her life was enriched by special nieces Amy Dockery and Amanda Gass, and close family friend Rodney Quibodeaux, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gerdine Sears, and her brother Chuck Sears.

A Celebration of Life is being planned by her family. Details regarding the date, time, and place of the services will be announced when decided , allowing all who loved her to gather and honor her memory.
