Karen MELTZER Obituary

Published by National Post from Mar. 21 to Mar. 24, 2015.
MELTZER, Karen Lynn (Rubin)
November 30, 1955 - March 14, 2015
On Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Loving wife of Howard; mother and mother-in-law of Laura Meltzer and Jacob Trevick and so very proud grandmother of Naomi. Daughter of Shirley and the late Harry Rubin and daughter-in-law of the late Edythe and Sidney Meltzer. Dear sister and sister-in- law of Laurence Rubin and Cathy Beck, Linda Rubin, Mark and Anne Rubin, Amy and Peter Funt, and Charles Meltzer. Over 31 years ago, Karen was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. With the extraordinary care of Dr. Hans Messner and the PMH staff, and following chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, she overcame this disease and lived a fulfilling and happy life for 30 years. We will always treasure her indomitable spirit, unbending will and vibrant personality, that made her a wonderful wife, devoted mother, great friend and most recently a very proud grandmother.

Dearest Family across the pond - I only met Karen once in New York (2004) when my daughter Laurelle was living and working there - she was lovely warm and friendly to a long lost cousin. My love to Shirley and Linda and all the family - cousin Roddy in London x
