O'NEILL, Karen A. "Kate" (Mullane), of Marshfield, and Pompano Beach, FL, formerly of Cambridge. Passed peacefully at her home on June 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cambridge on March 5, 1952 to the late Christopher Mullane and Mary (Alicandro). Beloved wife of over 47 years to Robert B. O'Neill, Jr. Loving mother of William O'Neill and Robert O'Neill and his wife Sonya. Cherished grandmother of Owen, Sarina, and Aidan. Dear sister of Christopher Mullane, Maureen Walsh, and Susan Baldasaro. Retired from Plymouth County Sherriff's Department. Kate was an avid quilter and gardener. She loved spending time with Bob at Pompano Beach. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, June 29th, in Saint John's Church, 2254 Mass Ave in North Cambridge from 9:30am-11am. Followed by her funeral mass in church at 11am. Her burial will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306. Bob,
My sincere & profound sympathies to you and your family at the loss of Karen. She never ceased to amaze me during my tenure with the department. Her ability to smile, especially in the face of adversity of the challenges, and the negativity of the environment she faced every day, were truly a tribute to her character. She will be missed, certainly by you and the family, but also by those who were privileged to have known her. May she rest in peace and continue to look down upon those whom she so ardently loved.
