KAREN SCHURR Obituary
Age 64, of Avon, Ohio, formerly of Mt. Washington, and Scott Twp., on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Beloved wife of Craig "Chip" Schurr; loving mother of Patrick (Andrea), Michael (Kristy) and Steven Schurr; devoted grandmother of Aidan, Charlie, Colin and Liam Schurr; sister of David (Kim) and Edward Eckle; aunt of Matthew and Valerie Messer, Scott, Sean and Shannon Eckle; sister-in-law of Linda and Howard Messer; daughter of the late Joseph and Eileen Eckle. Karen was a devout Catholic and her faith in God guided her in raising her family and all that she did. She loved gardening, traveling and visiting with her children and grandchildren who affectionately call her GiGi. Friends received at the BRUSCO-FALVO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 214 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington (412 381-2323), on Friday from 12-8 p.m. Funeral Mass St. Mary of the Mount Church, located in Sullivan Hall (Bigham Street) on Saturday, 10 a.m. If lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation or St. Mary of the Mount Capital Improvement Fund.

Craig and Boys and all--Was so saddened to hear of Karen's passing. She was one of my FAVORITE friends!! We had soo much fun in Norma Noble dance classes and felt a connection with her--Being from Pittsburgh, also it was something else we had in common!!! Fond memories will always be with us of her and all of you when you lived here in KEttering, OH----Ken, Kenny, Kyle and I are thinking of all of you and your families and say our prayers for Karen and for God's comfort to keep you strong and cherish her memory. Chip, Dave and Eddie,
What can I say? Who would think that over 50 years , Karen and I would still be good friends. My heart is heavy and I am so thankful I got to see her and give her a big hug not knowing that that was the last time that would happen. I will miss her e-mails and the birthday card she sent to me faithfully every year. She will remain in my heart forever. May her faith in God heal your grief. My sincere sympathy to you all.
