Karen Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 4, 2025.
Karen Loraine Taylor (née Borgsdorf), 75, passed away on February 17, 2025, in Bakersfield, California.

Karen was born on August 5, 1949, in Taft, California. She spent her early years in Ventura and Bakersfield before embarking on a life that took her across several states, including Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Alaska. No matter where she lived, Karen's warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on those around her.

She was well known for her famous salsa recipe, KT Salsa-a beloved creation that became a staple among friends and family. Her love for cooking was just one of the many ways she brought people together. Karen cherished time spent with loved ones and found joy in their company.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Wendy Porter; granddaughter, Chloe Porter; nieces, Helen Borgsdorf and Jennifer Cooper; as well as numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Borgsdorf, and her brother, Kirk Borgsdorf.

A memorial gathering to honor Karen's life will be held on March 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wounded Heroes Fund, located at 3121 Standard St., Bakersfield, CA 93308.

Karen's kindness and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
