There is no way to describe the pain I feel from losing you. Your slipping away has left a giant hole in my very being, and nothing will ever fill it. I feel this pain every day. I tuck it away nice and neatly, I put on my happy face, hold my head up, and I keep going. But inside of me there is trauma, devastation, lonliness, regret, and torment. I will have to bear it all for the rest of my days.
I will never forget the first time I glanced upon my son's face. You and Mom-mom were there with me. I had never felt such a strong, compulsory love for anyone in my entire life. I felt the most indescribable love for him the very second I saw him. I was completely overwhelmed, for in that moment, I understood completely just how much my mother loved me. I was humbled. I looked at you and I told you that I understood. No one has ever loved me or will ever love me more than you loved me.
I realise now that while I was too busy living my grown up life, that you were able to relive your own motherhood all over again through your grandson as his Gaga. Your children were all grown, but the living embodiment of your oldest child afforded you the chance to have those beautiful innocent childhood years back. You made those years so special and magical for him. He will never let go.
You were the best Mother and Grandmother. We miss you everyday. So much. PLEASE watch over us, and be with EJ and Caydence. PLEASE be with me Momma.

I just learned of the passing of Karen Weikel. I am saddened and shocked. She was a kind and gentle person with a great sense of humor who loved her children and grandsons dearly. Condolences to her family.
