I heard about Kari's death from my sister-in-law who lives in Crookston. I was a classmate of Kari's beginning in 5th grade at McKinley Elementary. I lived across the field from her and her family east of town. In whatever way was possible for a young person to understand it, I was always impressed with Kari's caliber of character and counted it an honor to be befriended by her. Through our school years, my respect for her continued to grow. She is one of a few friends I have wondered about since high school and having now just read about some of her life, I am much more aware of what a gift it was to have known her what little I did. I am grateful for that and glad for you, her family, in that you had her for wife and mother, daughter and niece, etc., and deeply saddened for you as well. She was one who seemed to understand my own sense of loss when my father died in his 40's during the fall of our 6th grade year. May God, in His infinite love, give you all comfort, courage and deepened relationships with Him and each other.

I can't tell how sad we all are for your loss. Kari truely was a remarkable person and will be missed by many. I will always remember her smile and her deep concern for others. We will keep you in our prayers. Love, Richard and Lynnette Evenson and Family
