Sadly, I just found Karin's name mentioned in memoriam in the winter edition of the Catholic U magazine. I had been thinking of her and looking in vain for her new address. We were good friends in college, I attended her wedding, and we kept in touch over the years. She visited us in Chicago several times, perhaps enroute to visit her family in CA by train. We last met for lunch with Kristin at the Art Institute when they were in town for a wedding. I was very very sad to hear of her passing and sorry that we had lost touch. She had such a wonderful spirit and was a great friend. Please accept my sympathy your loss. Mary Gruenheck Shea

She was a real partner for many years, and a great mother.

Karin and I were good friends in college, before we became connected by marriage, I.e. her marriage to my brother Paul. She was beautiful, creative and generous. I think we laughed together more than we talked. We took trips together with the kids to the ocean beaches, Bethany and Rehobeth, which were always adventures. I will never forget her kindness to our mother, bringing multiple dresses to her for her to pick her favorite, at which time Karin would return the others back to the store. She was a dear person who was loved by many.
God bless her.

Jon,
This is from Adam Cohen's mom. I was so sorry to see your mom's beautiful picture (with her ever-ready and memorable smile) in the Post yesterday. Speaking with her when you and Adam visited each other and played or practiced soccer was a highlight of my parenting days. Your mom was vivacious, generous with information (I remember vividly her foray into the decorating field) and just an all around wonderful lady. I am so sorry for your loss. Please feel free to email me with an update if/when you have the time. I'm still using Adam's original email address.
