Aug. 6, 2007: Our impromptu wedding on Perdido Key in Orange Beach, AL.
The day was beautiful and memorable with few friends and family, but had the blessings of many. It was a quasi-casual, ocean-side wedding, me in crocheted cotton and Karl in linen, we set off for the setting sun. My eyes were constantly brimming with joy-filled tears and Karl kept the focus at hand with his sweet, crooked smile and an occasional wink. He held my hands and never stopped staring, reassuring me. The nuptials, performed by a former ship´s captain, slowly but steadily turned into an off-center, often quirky (or even a little odd) ceremony complete with a lot of laughter and love. Best. Day.

I first met fudges Dad after football practice Freshmen year of High School. He was the nicest guy to me and would always ask how I was doing every time he saw me. The entire family is in my thoughts and prayers. - The Shea family

I have lots of memories hanging out with Karl when I was around 15 years old...I loved his laugh!! I hadn´t seen him since high school but will always remember him fondly. Such a beautiful kind soul!! My deepest condolences to his family and close friends. I hope you can find comfort in your beautiful memories.

I only met Karl once. He was fun and loving to his Mom. My heart goes out to the entire family and his many friends. Hugs and prayers. Vicky Weibel. (Jim Florea´s Aunt)

We remember Karl´s high energy and outgoing personality-ever ready to participate in family get togethers. I somehow want to say Karl´s energy level was kinetic-just itching for things to do. Much love to all the Hahns. Aunt Kristi and Uncle Tom

Kart, Eric and I were cousins of the same age. I remember him playing the daredevil and clown at the same time, jumping from the lifeguard´s ladder on michigan beach. Great spirit, wild spirit. Sorry I didn´t get to see him these last decades. Much love to the Hahns. So sorry.

My deepest condolences to Karls family. The memories from college, Rumors, Crackle and general silliness will always make me smile. We will miss you Karl and love you very much!

We had so many great memories. Slinging cocktails at Rumors in Cape Girardeau and Big Kahuna in STL. We enjoyed going to concerts with the crew. My of my favorite memories is of the drive home from Scream Stream an annual float trip. Those that were there remember that story. I will miss you Captain. Sail on.

I don't remember our first meeting, but I have many vivid memories of travels with Karl. We me at 1983 at SEMO. One of my fondest memories is of a trip to our annual float trip when his shoes stunk so bad we had to hang them outside the van. They just banged on the door as we drove home, taunting us with terror. He also slept 16 straight hours on a drive home from skiing one year...16 hours. He was a good friend and I'll miss him terribly.

He always called me Hannah Banana and gave me the biggest and silliest hugs. He was constantly joking around and making us laugh. His smile and soul were always so warm, we knew he cared about us all deeply. Love you always.

Karl always asked about the kids when we were around him and he was such a kind soul to me and to others around him.
