In memory of
Tom Wiegmann
December 10, 2004
It's never as easy as stating that the world is made up of only good or bad people, but if it was, Karl would clearly have been considered a good person. I enjoyed my time interacting with him.

It is with great sadness and profound emptiness that I write this tribute to a good friend and even better man. Those of us who were priviledged to have known Karl are left with many happy memories, thanks to his always upbeat personality and unique sense of humor. He will be missed dearly. May God keep him and bless him always.

Karl was a good man and good friend. I met Karl at Uconn in 1975. We went on to become room mates for our junior and senior years. We have been friends ever since. I will miss him and his sense of humor. May he rest in peace.

Karl, I thought there would be many years to share family memories and laughs with you. I was sure there would be another Florida visit with root "beer", pictures shared and laugher. I believe you knew that the Florida Lavery's loved you.
Now we will miss you.

I known Karl for quite a while and had the privileged to be his PMC analyst for some time. It was during this time where he we became friends.. We'd talk at length about his and mine favorite basketball teams(mens and womens), the Huskies. Karl you'll be missed sorely "you hansome devil you" May the blessed lord grant you eternal peace and may the good Lord also provide comfort to his family.

I have worked with Karl on and off over the entire 10 years I have been with Pratt and it was a very sad shock to have that end. I can't remember him ever saying anything negative about someone, he was a fine engineer and a neat person.

I worked with Karl in my early career with P&W in the JT8D group as
a C&D contract engineer. Karl was a great guy and a pleasure to be around. He will be sorely missed.

A very thoughtful, generous, creative person, he had quite an interesting sense of humor, he was also a great cook, always ready to share recipes he has found and tried. As much as he loved history, sadly, now he is a part of it.

I met Karl only a few years ago when I started working at Pratt & Whitney. I never knew how many lives he touched, just that he cared enough to "show me the ropes" at P&W. He taught me a lot of what I know now, and for that I am truly grateful. I am honored to have known him, even if only for a short time. My sincerest condolences go out to his family.

Karl was a great and loyal friend who treated me like family. He possessed superior intelligence and an outstanding memory. He had a calming influence and was always willing to help others. He had a big heart. My entire family, wife, kids, parents and siblings all loved him as I did. He is deeply missed by myself and all who had the honor of knowing him.

Karl was a very knowledgeable person with a broad background. One of the easiest people to relate almost anything to. Be it a complex technical issue or gardening Karl was able to discuss and surely had a story from personal experience he was able to share. I know he will be missed by all of us who have had the fortune of knowing him.

Karl was our "go to" person at work. We went to Karl for perspective, for answers to the hard questions (Karl seemed to know more than most about nearly any subject we encountered). We also went to Karl to feel good. Karl's way had a calming effect on people, especially during crisis. I spent quite a bit of personal time with Karl during his last week at work and, as always, found Karl entertaining, helpful, and a good friend. Karl had heart for everyone and he will be deeply missed.
