Kate Reid Blevins

Kate Reid Blevins, 69, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018. Kate was an avid farmer and anyone who knew her knew she had a special place in her heart for horses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nada Reid. Survivors include her son, Todd Blevins; Loving companion, Wayne DeBusk of Chilhowie; step-children, David DeBusk and wife Tabbie and children, Brooke and Justin, and Clarissa Bise and husband Tim and children, Kenzie and Madison, all of Chilhowie; brother, Thomas H. "Tom" Reid and wife Helen; sister, Nelda R. Phillips and husband Robert; nieces and nephews, Tom Reid and wife Wanda, Jeff Reid and wife Diane, Lacy Phillips, Robin Reid, Tina Reid, Barry Reid; great nephews and nieces, Emery Reid, Neal Reid, Matthew Reid, Andrew Reid, and Emily Reid. Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Sunday, Nov. 25 at Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Baumgardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Glade Spring. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 PM Sunday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Due to Wayne's illness, the family will not be receiving friends at their home but will do so at the home of Kate's sister, Nelda Phillips, 759 Skyview Drive, Chilhowie, Va. Pallbearers will be Tom Reid, Jeff Reid, Emery Reid, Tim Bise, Scott St. John, David DeBusk, and Lacy Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin and Levi St. John. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
