Kate and I worked together at KTCA-TV in St. Paul when we were just babies. I just heard of her death today, May 19, 2010, 8 months later. I'm still in shock. What a beautiful spirit Kate was! She will be sorely missed. I'm remembering many secrets and much laughter shared and someone I was honored to call my friend. Sue O'Halloran

To the entire Billings family and Rich,
I was so saddened to hear of Katie's death. I had not spoken to her for some time, of course always thought about it but didn't make the time. I will remember fondly all the great times we had growing up, especially the summers spent at the lake. My heart goes out to each of you. I will treasure her special friendship forever.

Kate was a great friend and colleague for all her time here in the "early days" of KTCA-TV. This was a special time as we grew out of our 'Educational TV" stage and moved into the world of PBS. Kate was a big factor in that transition, all the while remaining true to her wonderful soul.

My husband and I went to Kate for accupuncture for several years. She was so gentle and kindhearted. We always felt so well when we left. She had a quiet, calm way about her that transferred into her practice. I always felt at peace leaving my session. We miss her already and will always remember her with great fondness.
With deepest sympathy for her family.

I went to Kate last year for acupunture during what was a very difficult time in my personal life. What I got from her was so much more than just her wonderful healing treatments. Her kindness, true caring and ability to really listen helped me more than I can say.
She spoke often of her love of family and sailing and it was clear to see hers was a life well lived.
I have found that those we love deeply live on in the hearts of those they leave behind. She will be remembered.
My deepest sympathy to all her family

Hi Rich,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We, too, were stunned to hear of Kate's passing. Kate's fun spirit was what we remember the most about her from our wedding. We hope you find comfort at this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear of Kate's passing! She worked with us at WHOI for a couple of years before her acupuncture business took off. She was such a great person/friend! She will truly be missed. My deepest condolences!

I had acupuncture with Kate and she was a wonderful, healing person. I am so sorry to learn about her passing. I am sure she was as courageous, thoughtful of others, and unselfish in dying as she was in living. Kirstin Moritz, Falmouth, MA

Rich,
Maris and I were so sorry to learn of Kate's passing. We only met her a few times, but we really enjoyed talking to her, especially at the lunch following my father's service. We found her to be a very warm and friendly person. Our thoughts are with you.
